Caston Stone is a family owned business owned by father and son, R.C. and Lewis Caston. After having mined stone from his land for many years, R.C. decided to sell the stone on a wider scale. Caston Stone buys stone from many jobbers in and around Stone County to fulfill stone orders. Caston Stone was started in 1995 and sells stone to companies in areas such as Florida, Mississippi, Texas, Minnesota, Tennessee and Arkansas.
The Caston family is well known in the Stone County area for their farming expertise as well. They are joined in the family farming business by two other sons: Robert and Fred Caston. Not only co-owner in the stone yard, Lewis also maintains a blueberry farm of his own as well as a partnership with his father to grow blackberries and peaches. Lewis has a cattle stocking business that maintains between 1200-1800 head of cattle. R. C. and his wife, Mary, are the parents of seven children and 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Lewis and his wife, Bennetta, have three children and one grandchild.
In 2011, Robert began managing Caston Stone. Drawing on the training he received during his approximately 30 years of experience in the oil industry many changes have taken place at Caston Stone. Perhaps the most important of which is the “Quality Assurance Program.”
